What are AudioChips?
![]() |
Tiny, portable and strong, iofy's audiobook chips pack an entire audio language course in to a single easy-to-use memory chip. Listen with your iofy Player or iPod, on your PC or Mac, or even a PocketPC, Palm, or SmartPhone. Unlike bulky, skipping CDs and warbling old cassettes, you're free to learn on-the-go with uninterrupted digital audio quality. Take your chip with you on your next trip - it's a whole school of language that fits in your pocket. |
Why make the switch to AudioChips?
Efficient:
Fits a whole Pimsleur Comprehensive course onto a single chip (SD card) that is the size of a postage stamp! No need to carry around a big case with 16 CDs.
Portable:
Compact, lightweight, and very durable--and AudioChips play without spinning parts that might break or cause skipping when you're on the go.
Easy to use:
The simplicity of AudioChips is particularly appreciated by listeners who would be frustrated by the complexity and time-consuming chores associated with more costly digital music players. With AudioChips there is no downloading, no need for a high-speed internet connection, and no importing or "ripping" compact discs.
There's no need for you to be tech savvy in order to use AudioChips chips, because every AudioChip interface has the same four buttons: back, forward, and play/pause (with standard pictures on the buttons), and the info button (which allows you to set bookmarks). The navigation buttons work exactly as you would expect them to. The forward and back buttons allow you to move to the previous or next lesson, respectively (holding down the button will let you 'rewind' or 'fast-forward' within a chapter). The play/pause button will automatically start your audiobook from where you last left off, and record your listening position when you pause. The info button is really simple to use. Voice prompts lead you through every step of the way, enabling you to easily set, find, and remove bookmarks.
Intelligent:
On the AudioChip player, and on many other devices, the AudioChip can remember your listening position and personal bookmarks between listening sessions, even when you swap them or move them from device to device. Many people stuck with language cassette tapes well after their prime, because you knew they would pick up where you left off. CDs have no capacity for storing track info after they're burned, so that's where chips step in. There's software built into each chip that remembers your place each and every time, and you can even set digital bookmarks! With CDs, each time you press stop, you lose your place in your language course. That's no fun!
Durable:
Each chip is about the size of a postage stamp, and barely thicker than a quarter. But even at such a tiny size, these chips are nearly indestructible. You could dunk one in coffee, leave it in a sauna, then run over it with a 1976 Chevy Nova SS -- it would still work. AudioChips use industry standard, time proven Secure Digital (SD) cards, just like the ones used in digital cameras to store photos.
Economical:
Get Pimsleur Comprehensive courses at lower prices than for CDs, and because they are lighter and require less packaging, shipping charges are lower too.
